Weekly Closed Recovery Group for Mental Health Professionals
Supporting the Helpers. Strengthening the Profession.

About the Group

This is a closed, clinician-only space for therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other behavioral health providers who are seeking support that is grounded in evidence-based recovery principles rather than in a 12 step framework. The group provides a structured and compassionate environment where mental health professionals can speak openly, reduce shame, and develop insight into their substance use in a context that understands the demands and pressures of clinical work.

Who the Group Is For

This group is intentionally limited to licensed or pre-licensed mental health providers practicing in the state of Connecticut. Members may be exploring moderation, abstinence, or a more mindful relationship with substances. All stages of curiosity, contemplation, and change are welcome.

What You Can Expect

• A closed cohort that meets consistently to build safety, continuity, and trust
• A secular and non 12 step approach rooted in psychological science
• A focus on self understanding, coping skills, and relational patterns
• Supportive dialogue among peers who share similar professional pressures
• Guided reflection on how substance use interacts with stress, burnout, and clinical identity
• A confidential setting where your professional role is respected and protected

Meeting Details

Mondays at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom
Closed cohort format
Open only to mental health providers living or practicing in Connecticut

Why Everwell Offers This Group

Everwell is committed to strengthening the mental health workforce by supporting the wellbeing of clinicians themselves. Therapists face unique emotional labor, high rates of burnout, and professional cultures that sometimes discourage vulnerability. By creating a dedicated, safe, and stigma-free space for recovery, we aim to ensure that those who care for others have a place to be cared for as well.

How to Join

If you would like to learn more about the group or inquire about availability, please text Executive Director Anthony Cernera at 203-613-3122 or email him.

At Everwell Mental Health, we believe that the quality of care clients receive is directly shaped by the wellbeing of the clinicians who serve them. In support of this mission, we are offering a confidential, secular, weekly recovery group designed exclusively for mental health professionals in Connecticut who want to examine and improve their relationship with alcohol or other substances.
