Everwell Mental Health Appoints Anthony A. Cernera as Executive Director
Fairfield, CT, July 5, 2024 – Everwell Mental Health, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Anthony A. Cernera, M.Ed., as its first Executive Director. With a strong background in mental health advocacy and nonprofit leadership, Cernera is set to lead Everwell in its mission of enhancing access to high-quality care, investing in wellness and prevention, and advocating for policy and social change.
Roxanne Deaton, Chair of the Board at Everwell Mental Health, expressed her enthusiasm for the new appointment. “Anthony brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to mental health care that aligns perfectly with Everwell’s mission. His vision and leadership will be instrumental in driving our organization forward and expanding our reach in the community.”
Eric Drosnock, LPC, Chief Clinical Officer, also commented on the selection of Cernera for the role. “Anthony’s background in mental health counseling and his innovative approach to nonprofit management make him the ideal leader for Everwell. We are confident that his expertise and passion for mental health will significantly enhance our mission.”
Cernera, a graduate-level clinician practicing psychotherapy at Shoreline Wellness Center in West Haven, CT, is a doctoral candidate who brings over 16 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and healthcare administrative leadership roles to Everwell. With a strong track record in developing effective programs and building community partnerships, his expertise will be invaluable as Everwell continues to grow.
“I am honored to join Everwell Mental Health and work on addressing the mental health crisis facing our fellow Connecticut residents,” said Cernera. “When so many people are in crisis, it can be hard to know where to start. My first priority will be rolling out free bystander training following the QPR protocol to help turn back the growing tide of teen suicides. This proven model helps people identify someone who is at risk and gives them the confidence and tools to know how to help.”
